Slowly we’re getting more details about Aquaman’s role in the Justice League—and even his own standalone movie. Earlier this week, the antagonist for the Aquaman movie was revealed and now, thanks to Zack Snyder’s Twitter, we have a look at a very grunge-looking Aquaman in his full armor for Justice League.
Donning his signature long locks and goatee, a fully-suited Jason Momoa plays around with a Gibson Memphis guitar while on set. While the shot seems out of place and shows how actors kill time between takes, the bigger takeaway is the Aquaman suit he’s wearing.
We saw the “Unite the Seven” image early in the development of the character, and we got an even better look in the first Justice League trailer during Comic-Con, but this image shows off what looks to be the full Aquaman armor.

Covered completely from the upper torso to the arms, the armor provides plenty of protection. With accents of rustic bronze, the suit plays off the relationship between metal and water. The suit also has a pattern of triangles to give it a similar look to fish scales. It also looks quite bulky. It’s a striking departure from the original orange and green comic book suit, but I don’t think many will decry the change. All that’s missing is the trident.
Given the lackluster performance of the DCEU, Aquaman is very important to the future of DC projects. Judging by the looks of it, he’ll certainly look badass.
We’ll get our first official look at Aquaman in Justice League, out in theaters November 17, 2017.
