Hulu is getting a show based on Marvel’s Runaways

The TV arm of Marvel Studios is getting stronger with news of a new show heading to Hulu. Deadline reports the streaming service will develop an adaptation based on the Runaways, a comic series created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.

Deadline says the story will be adapted by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage; a pilot has been ordered plus additional scripts, with the possibility of a full-season.

Runaways focuses on a group of teenagers who discover their parents are part of a secret society full of super powered villains. The kids realize they’ve inherited the powers from their parents, and set out to stop them from wreaking havoc on the world.

The new show adds to Marvel’s expanding list of TV content, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and an upcoming show on FOX that will focus on mutants. There’s no expected release date yet, so it’s unclear when the show will go into production.
