From the realistically-sculpted Black Series and Disney Elite diecast figures of Jyn, Cassian, and K2SO, to the Funko and Pop Director Krennic, the Rogue One merchandise line looks awesome indeed.
Even better, a video has been released to accompany the announcement, and it’s absolutely brilliant. Part of a new “Go Rogue” campaign, the video showcases the lineup of toys starring in a short story about the theft of the Death Star plans. It’s a comical take on the source material and reminds me of The Lego Movie, both in execution and style of humor.
New installments of the campaign, which showcases fan-made shorts on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, will roll out through September. According to a release from Disney, the team behind the short you see above was lead by James DeJulio at Tongal, with stop-motion animators and directors Dan Mackenzie and Tucker Barrie also involved.
Keep checking back on the official Star Wars YouTube channel to see more toys revealed up until they are released on Sept. 30.
