Jared Leto’s Joker barely featured in this summer Suicide Squad, apparently because a lot of his footage was cut during editing. But with the actor saying he’d still love to play the character in a future DC film, many people assumed he’d show up in next year’s Justice League. Turns out, that’s not the case.
Following a rumor claiming Leto’s Joker would feature in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez chimed in to say the Clown Prince of Crime won’t be in next year’s ensemble flick.
Sorry DC fanboys. Yesterday's rumor that surfaced about Jared Leto being in JUSTICE LEAGUE? Unfortunately, not true. #DEADED

So, basically like Suicide Squad?
That doesn’t mean the character won’t show up in a future DC film, such as Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie. It just means we won’t see him anytime soon.
Leto didn’t exactly leave a lasting impression in Suicide Squad. But, then again, the movie didn’t necessarily give him that much to do.
At least for now, fans will have to be content with what they were given in Suicide Squad—or pine over why Heath Ledger’s Joker was such a great antagonist in The Dark Knight.
