Showtime: October adds Shameless, Anthony Weiner documentary

With October right around the corner, Showtime has announced which original content premieres this month and it is packed noteworthy titles. One of the flagship series on the cable network, Shameless, starring William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, returns for its seventh season while Master of Sex will also continue its strong fourth season with new episodes in October.

Showtime also premieres the critically acclaimed documentary of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner, Weiner. The documentary, which premieres on October 22, won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival delivers a behind the scenes look at Weiner’s 2013 mayoral race dogged by a sex scandal.

This month will also mark the ten-year anniversary of the Showtime series, Dexter, and in honor of the occasion, Showtime has the entire series available on its streaming service.
