See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloFrank Castle (aka The Punisher) will be joined by a trio of new actors in his upcoming Netflix series, according to Marvel. Among them, Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia) will play a character named Billy Russo, Frank Castle’s former best friend from his days in the Special Forces.
Russo runs a private military corporation called Anvil, according to Marvel, something that will no doubt bring him and Castle back together when the series releases next year. There’s a character in the comics named Billy Russo who tries to assassinate Castle, but fails and is thrown through a window, tearing his face to shreds.
Additionally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) will play an NSA analyst named Micro, who Marvel says will possess secrets that will be of great value to Frank Castle. In the comics, Micro serves as an ally to the Punisher, providing him with technology and weapons.
Finally, Amber Rose Revah (Indian Summers) has joined as Dinah Madani, a Homeland Security agent who Marvel says has a bone to pick with the Punisher.
Plot details for the upcoming series are still scarce though the addition of Barnes, Moss-Bachrach, and Revah reveal who Frank Castle will come up against.
The Punisher is set to hit Netflix sometime in 2017.
