Prime members have the option to add these services to their existing subscription, giving them access to Game of Thrones and Westworld, two shows you don’t want to miss.
The HBO package costs $14.99 per month for unlimited access, which is the same price for an HBO Now subscription. Pardon my french, but what’s the purpose of Amazon offering HBO if the cost isn’t subsidized in some way? DirecTV Now, which launched on Wednesday, offers HBO as an add-on for $5.
“HBO has produced some of the most groundbreaking, beloved and award-winning shows in television history,” said Amazon VP of digital video Michael Paull. “Their selection of blockbuster movies is unsurpassed, including hits like Batman vs Superman, The Revenant, and Deadpool.”
Cinemax, meanwhile, is offered at $9.99 per month.

Amazon Channels offers over 80 subscriptions
The nice thing about Amazon Channels is you can sign up for individual channels and cancel at any time—no cable package required. You can also use one login and password, too, which is certainly convenient.
Otherwise, there isn’t much difference compared to signing up for HBO Now without going through Amazon Channels. With Amazon, it’s just slightly more convenient.
On top of HBO and Cinemax, Amazon Channels offers subscriptions to Showtime, Starz, PBS Kids, Acorn TV, and more.
