“The path to paradise begins in hell.”
That quote, from Dante’s Inferno, couldn’t be any more fitting. Watch the newest trailer for Alien: Covenant and you’ll see why.
The newest trailer provides a better look at the titular spaceship, Covenant, and provides some general plot details. But, what is meant to be a colonization mission winds up being a fight for survival.
Things seems pretty calm at first; there are literally no animals, insects, anything. But the situation quickly heads south, followed by plenty of xenomorph attacks.
Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant, which includes Walter, a rebuild of the android David, a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition, find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. However, said ‘paradise’ soon reveals itself to be a dangerous world inhabited by the original David and monstrous creatures that start to hunt them.
It looks scary as hell
If you were let down by Prometheus, Alien: Covenant looks to be a return to form for director Ridley Scott, who began this crazy journey all the way back in 1979.
Alien: Covenant is scheduled for a May 19 release.
