Aaron Sorkin has reportedly completed the script for the Steve Jobs biopic based on the book by Walter Isaacson.
Buried at the end of an article from Variety that was about Sorkin’s Newsroom series on HBO being picked up for a third and final season was a tidbit on the long gestating Jobs film.
With the season three order now official, Variety has also confirmed that Sorkin has turned in script for Sony’s Steve Jobs biopic, which Sorkin was tapped to pen in spring 2012.
This is not to be confused with the recently released Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher. The actor that will tackle the lead role in this version has not yet been announced.
It has been some time since we heard anything about this movie, but the last time Sorkin discussed it he said the film would focus around three important product launches in Jobs’ life: Mac, NeXT and iPod.
No start date for production or release date has been announced as of yet for this film. A fall or late 2015 release is still on the table at this point, but I would say 2016 is more likely right now.
