Netflix just unveiled the new titles being added in April and it’s full of original titles. The service has made it a priority to focus on original material and April is another month with tons of new titles ranging from original movies to exclusive stand-up specials.
On the movie side, the major title arriving is Adam Sandler’s Sandy Wexler. The third movie of a four-movie deal Sandler struck with Netflix back in 2014, the movie follows Sandy Wexler, a Hollywood agent that falls in love with one of his clients. Two other lesser known movies, Sand Castle and Small Crimes, are also arriving this month. Sand Castle stars Nicholas Hoult and is set during the second Gulf War in 2003. Small Crimes follows a disgraced cop who is trying to put his life together after being released from prison for the attempted murder of the District Attorney.
For TV shows, Dear White People, Girlboss and Las Chicas del Cable are debuting while Chewing Gum (season 2), The Get Down Part II and Chelsea (season 2) are each returning for sophomore seasons. Louis C.K. 2017 and Lucas Brothers: On Drugs are two of the comedy specials being added.
Netflix’s focus might be on original titles, but it’s still adding tons of content that isn’t original. Tropic Thunder, The BFG, Kubo and the Two Strings, The Secret Life of Pets and Kevin Hart: What Now? are some of the notable titles that will be available to stream.
