Frank Castle, known to comic fans as The Punisher, was one of the best parts of season 2 of Daredevil on Netflix. The response to Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of Marvel’s infamous vigilante was strong and immediate. We wanted more. Marvel is obliging by giving the character his own Netflix series, and a few photos managed to leak out via FantastikMarvel on Twitter.

While the Punisher has had a variety of looks over the years, the skull on his chest has remained pretty consistent. The Marvel Netflix shows have been reticent to show their heroes in any kind of costumes lest we remember we’re watching comic book shows, but Frank Castle wearing the skull just looks right.
There’s no word yet on when The Punisher will hit Netflix, but we’re guessing sometime this fall. Iron Fist hit with a thud this spring, and Defenders hits this summer. The Punisher is slated for 2017, so a late-fall release date makes sense.
