Following his cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we know Luke Skywalker will play a larger role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Now, a report from Making Star Wars claims to have details on Luke’s “emotional” journey in The Last Jedi, and his reluctance to train Rey.

Some of these details can be discerned from the first teaser for The Last Jedi, but there are still some light spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

According to the report, The Last Jedi won’t just be about Rey’s training, but about Luke’s emotional journey and how he comes to terms with his current situation. There’s apparently a touching moment between Luke, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 when the three are reunited.

Remember, Luke went into hiding on Ahch-To, so he hasn’t seen any of his friends for a long time. Not to mention, Han Solo was killed in The Force Awakens, so he’ll have to come to terms with that as well.

Making Star Wars says Rey will play an integral role in bringing “this non-blood family together in the wake” of what has happened. “It really makes you think about how much bloodlines don’t matter as much as the families we make,” the report says.

The report goes on to say Luke will indeed train Rey, similar to what Yoda did with him, but he’ll put his own “spin on it.” Making Star Wars doesn’t divulge details about what that means, though it could have something to do with Luke saying it’s time for the Jedi to end.

Since the teaser hit, many people have speculated that Luke will embrace the Dark and Light sides of the Force, putting him somewhere in between. Perhaps that’s what Making Star Wars means when he says Luke will put his own spin on teaching Rey how to use her Force powers.

The report has a few other details about The Last Jedi, including information about a new species of bird on Ahch-To that Chewbacca takes a particular liking to.
