It looks like director David Fincher has chosen his Steve Jobs, and it’s Christian Bale.
David Fincher is set to direct the upcoming Steve Jobs film based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of the tech legend. The script was written by Aaron Sorkin, whom Fincher worked with previously on The Social Network, the film about the creation of Facebook. What hasn’t been known up until now was who would play the iconic co-founder of Apple.
According to sources speaking with The Wrap, Fincher wants Christian Bale, best known for playing Batman in the three Christopher Nolan films, to take on the role of Steve Jobs. The awkward part, however, is that apparently Bale has not yet been officially approached with an offer, and is currently taking a break having just finished the biblical epic Exodus for Ridley Scott that sees him playing Moses.
As with all Hollywood deals, nothing is set until the cameras roll, and even then things can change. With no offer having been made to Bale yet, this is very clearly not set in stone, but at least we know which way Fincher may be leaning as to whom should don the black turtle neck.
