Mega Man animated film in negotiations with Paranormal Activity directors

So, I’m a little torn on this one. In addition to the new Mega Man cartoon, 20th Century Fox also bought the rights for a film adaptation of the Blue Bomber. Lifelong fans like myself are already iffy on how anything related to Mega Man will play out in the coming years, so naturally, our expectations are being kept wisely in check.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, known for the Catfish documentary and Paranormal Activity 3 and 4, are wrapping up negotiations to write and direct the film. Fox is also working with Chernin Entertainment and Heroes star Masi Oka acting as producer for the show.

I’m not sure what to think. Hopefully, all parties involved are Mega Man fans because the resume of the creators don’t exactly fit the material. We’re talking robots, not ghosts and Siluriformes. Or better yet, can you imagine a Mega Man found-footage movie? What would that be like?

We’ll sit back and just hope for the best. If it doesn’t turn out like we wanted, well, Mega Man fans have had enough practice with let downs over the years
