TV-Breaking Bad Wisdom

The first episode of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff that follows dirty lawyer Saul Goodman, has been pushed back to early 2015. Ouch. But it’s not all bad. AMC has reportedly renewed the show for a 13-episode second season, suggesting the network is quite happy with what has already been shot.

Better Call Saul was originally slated to air this November, but the hourlong drama has been pushed back for undisclosed reasons. Filming for the season isn’t even finished yet, which is currently underway in New Mexico. Once the show airs in 2015, the second season is expected to air in 2016, likely around the same time. Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad, is directing the series premier, and will be co-running the show with Peter Gould, who actually created the character of Saul.

While AMC didn’t specifically say why it won’t hit its intended November timeframe, the network did acknowledge that it wants to get the show exactly right, especially when coming on the heels of Breaking Bad. When the show airs next year, it’s expected to act as a prequel about the life of Saul Goodman before the events in Breaking Bad took place.
