The first proper teaser trailer for Jurassic World has been released, opening its doors to the same safari-life ride from the first film. We’re literally invited to see what’s behind those big wooden doors; if you saw what happened in the first film, you know that having a park full of unpredictable dinosaurs doesn’t end well.
Jurassic World will take fans back to Isla Nublar, which is the original location of the first park. (The two other films, Jurassic Park II and Jurassic Park III, took place on Isla Sorna.) Plot details are pretty light at this point, though Jurassic World does take place many years after the events of the original film. It sure looks like despite what happened that in the first Jurassic Park, the new amusement park is already up and running, with some high-tech gadgetry to protect visitors.
“The park is open,” the trailer says, with quick glimpses of some dinos along with a very serious-looking Chris Pratt. Bryce Dallas Howard also stars, who looks to be in some executive role as a scientist or perhaps someone who runs the park. Vincent D’Onofrio, who is expected to portray the film’s villain, also stars.
A full trailer will be revealed on Thanksgiving Day (this upcoming Thursday), so stay tuned. The first Jurassic Park is still one of the best movies ever, and we’re really hoping the return to Isla Nublar is a happy one. Jurassic World will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
