The hotel chain says it will begin providing guests with a complimentary GoPro HERO 4 to use during their visit, giving travelers a great tool for documenting those snorkeling/surfing/zip-lining adventures. Now it’s just up to you to create a worthwhile video.
The new test-drive program is being offered at 17 locations in countries like Peru, Ecuador, Puerto Rico and more. All guests need to do is inform the hotel they’d like to participate, and bam, you’ll be recording yourself cliff diving in no time. It’s not only a fun way to drum up excitement for the technology, but it encourages travelers to share their experience. That, in turn, should spark interest from other potential vacationers. “Hey, now that looks like fun.”
The initiative is part of Marriott’s “Travel Brilliantly” campaign, which seemingly looks to highlight the best part of these Caribbean and Latin American countries. If it drives more tourism, all the better. And it’s a smart move if you think about it. Instead of Marriott telling travelers why they should visit, the hotel chain is letting guests do the work for them. There’s a whole site dedicated to letting people share their experiences, along with a map of participating hotels. Below is the full list.
Chances are, if you’re visiting these countries, you’ll already have your own arsenal of vacation-documenting gear. But if you haven’t yet had the chance to test out the GoPro HERO4, this isn’t a bad way to do it.
