Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to hit theaters in a couple weeks, but just a little over two months after that we’ll be jumping into a whole new character with Ant-Man.
On Monday night in Hollywood the gala premiere of the latest Avengers movie will be taking place, but in the world of Marvel films that means it’s actually time to start promoting its next film. Ant-Man will be hitting theater on July 17, and it will also serve as the epilogue to Phase 2 of the Marvel Universe storyline.
In Ant-Man Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits convicted thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) to don the Ant-Man costume to help him take on Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) who has taken up with his own suit of armor to become Yellowjacket.
This is yet another new direction in the Marvel Universe films with definite comedic overtones to this film as long as it appearing to having heist elements. This just proves that because all of these films feature costumed characters it doesn’t mean they can’t take on different genres.
You’ll be able to check out Ant-Man in U.S. theaters starting on July 17.
