Variety reports Diego Luna (Elysium, Milk, Y Tu Mamá También) will star opposite Felicity Jones in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. Nothing official has been announced, though Variety claims the deal is all but finalized. The actor is best known for more dramatic roles, though he has the chops for a wide range of genres. While his face will already be familiar to American audiences, Luna should give Star Wars even more international appeal. He recently played Manolo in the excellent animated flick The Book of Life.

At the recent Star Wars Celebration, it was revealed that Rogue One would be part of a separate anthology to the main story, and be a much grittier take on the Star Wars universe than fans are typically used to. Rogue One is going to take place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and focus on a group of rebels attempting to steal plans for the Death Star.

Here is a description of what was shown off at the celebration last month:

A trailer was then shown that feature Alec Guinness’ dialogue explaining who the Jedie were as a camera sweeps through a forest, panning up as a TIE Fighter flies over. As the camera left the streets you see the original Death Star in orbit around a planet and voices screaming like they’re in a battle.

It’s unclear what role Luna will play, so we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Disney and Lucasfilm. Other actors expected to be in Rogue One include Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Ahmed and Sam Claflin. The film, which is being directed by Gareth Edwards, is scheduled for a Dec. 16, 2016 release,
