Andy Serkis, Batman, Joker, Chris Pine, Ancient One, etc., etc., and on and on. It’s been a breathless week full of some really amazing entertainment news, highlighted by a ton of Suicide Squad set images. Oh, and we also saw an awesome new clip from Jurassic World, which shows a slightly hilarious intimate moment between Chris Pratt and his raptor crew.
The biggest news, no doubt, is that the role of Andy Serkis in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been unveiled. Well, we know his name, but not necessarily how he factors into the story. His name, Supreme Leader Snoke, seems to hint that he’ll be in charge of the First Order, which seems to have been established following the downfall of Galactic Empire. Who knows. He’ll be a CGI character, however, which is also notable.
Down below are some of the other rumors, reports and trailers we didn’t get around to this week. The standout for me? Kung Fury, of course. If you want to turn your brain off and enjoy some good, mindless fun, give it a watch. It’s about as so-bad-it’s-good as movies go.
In case you haven’t seen Mad Max: Fury Road yet, I suggest you do so immediately. If you have seen it, I suggest you see it again. Otherwise, the only notable film out in theaters this weekend is San Andreas, which is about The Rock doing the people’s elbow a little too hard, causing a huge earthquake.

Caliban in X-Men: Apocalypse
Bryan Singer has been actively teasing behind-the-scenes photos from X-Men: Apocalypse, and the latest image clearly says we’re in Caliban’s domain. Caliban possesses a unique mutant-tracking ability, which is later augmented by Apocalypse. Um, the title of the movie is Apocalypse. Oh dear. [BryanSinger]

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen will return
The 2003 film starring Sean Connery could have been so good. Instead, it was so, so, so bad. And that’s a shame, too, because there’s so much to the source material. But, mercifully, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is getting a second chance. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, TLoEG features characters such as Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Invisible Man, Tom Sawyer, Dorian Gray and Allan Quartermain. Please don’t screw this one up. [Variety]

Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin join Fuller House
Danny Tanner and Aunt Becky are returning to Fuller House, which is set to premier on Netflix next year. If you were a child of the 90s, then chances are Full House was a consistent part of your daily diet. It will be strange to see it back onscreen, and especially now that all the cast members are so much older. But it’s great that a lot of the original cast is returning, and I’m cautiously optimistic about how this will turn out. [ComingSoon]

More (hilarious) TMNT 2 set photos
I really don’t have much to say about these photos from the TMNT 2 set. Look at Bebop! And Rocksteady! In their human forms! In the 80s cartoon, they were mutated into humanoid characters, a warthog and rhinoceros, respectively, which Shredder hoped would make them more powerful than the turtles. Will that same transformation take place in TMNT 2? Man, I hope so, if only to see a CGI warthog and rhinoceros running around the big screen. [DailyMail]
Point Break remake trailer
This is, in my eyes, one of Hollywood’s biggest travesties. Here we have a perfectly good movie—the original came out in 1991 and starred a young Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze—that’s being absolutely butchered with a more contemporary action sports angle. The stunts look amazing, and I’m sure the action will be great. But call it something else. Don’t tarnish the Point Break name. “The only law that matters is gravity.” Too late.

Deadpool production has wrapped
That was fast. Ryan Reynolds on Friday announced that production for Deadpool has wrapped. Now, that doesn’t mean the film itself is ready to be shown off. It still needs to be edited, mixed, and CGI added. But, for the most part, all the brunt work has been finished, which means, hopefully, we should see a trailer soonish. The movie comes out on Feb. 12, 2016, after all, which isn’t all that far away. [RyanReynolds]
Watch Kung Fury in its entirety
Kung Fury is an over-the-top 80’s action comedy that was crowd funded through Kickstarter. It features Kung Fury, a Kung Fu renegade cop who travels back in time to kill his Nemesis, Hitler. The film features nazis, dinosaurs, vikings and cheesy one-liners.
Need I say more?

Jaws is returning to theaters
To celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary, Jaws will be screened at around 500 theaters across the U.S. between June 21 and June 24. You can check out this Fathom Events page to see if it’ll be playing in a theater near you. [FathomEvents]

Bumblebee spinoff in the works
Everyone’s favorite Transformer is reportedly getting his own spinoff. Paramount Pictures is planning to build an entire cinematic universe around the Transformers franchise, and that includes many solo movies. Aside from Optimus Prime, Bumblebee is by far the most popular character, maybe even more so, so it’s no surprise to hear he’d be getting his own solo outing. Just don’t have any characters played by Mark Wahlberg named Cade. [DarkHorizons]
