Have you ever wondered what your pets do while you’re away? Get into the sock drawer? Sleep on the couch? Maybe even chew up your favorite pair of shoes?
The makers of Despicable Me also wondered what pets do while humans are out, and the result is a charming new film called The Secret Life of Pets. And, hoo-boy, it looks absolutely delightful.
If you own (or have owned) pets, this movie will hit you right in the feels. Although this is just a teaser, the more than two minutes of footage is funnier than a lot of full-length comedies. The cat getting into the fridge and agonizing over whether or not to eat the turkey is absolutely classic.
I love how the pets all have their own unique personalities. Mel is steadfast in his commitment to guarding his owner’s apartment, while Sweat Pea likes to pretend she’s a fighter pilot. It’s hilarious and so fun.
Unfortunately, The Secret Life of Pets isn’t set to come out until next summer, so we have a long wait ahead of us. But fret not: Illumination is releasing Minions on July 10, and you already know how excited we are for that.
