See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloApple Music will be available at 8 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 30, when iOS 8.4 rolls out to the public. Beats 1 radio will then begin broadcasting just one hour later, and you’ll be able to enjoy it all for free for the first three months.
The launch times were confirmed by Apple Music senior director Ian Rogers in a blog post on Fistfulayen, and in tweets published on Sunday. The times were later removed from his story later on, but they can still be found in Rogers’ tweets.
“Update your phone at 8am,” Rogers told one Apple fan. “Zane’s show starts at 9am PT.” That’s 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. ET.
Zane Lowe, who joined Apple from BBC Radio 1 earlier this year, is one of three Beats 1 DJs; he will be broadcasting from Los Angeles, and he will be joined by Ebro Darden in New York, and Julie Adenuga in London.
Subscribers will also be able to enjoy shows from stars like Drake, Elton John, and Pharrell Williams.
When the three-month free trial ends, Apple Music will cost $9.99 a month for an individual subscription, or $14.99 for a family plan that permits up to six users — each of which have their own accounts with their own music, playlists, and preferences.
If you want to enjoy Lowe’s show as soon as it’s available, prepare to update your iOS devices at 8 a.m. PT tomorrow. Bear in mind, however, that Apple’s servers are likely going to get hit hard at that time, so you might want to give your device a little longer than usual to update.
