There has been a lot of speculation about what the new Power Rangers suits would look given the Rita Repulsa costume deviated so much from the TV series, and let’s just say the new suits contain zero spandex.
Entertainment Weekly this week revealed the first picture of the new suits and they lean heavily on the modern side, almost like they took inspiration from Iron Man. The iconic color scheme is still present along with the dino inspired helmets, but the suits themselves are slabs of metal. I’m not too sure how I feel about new suits, but they do stand out. With the popularity of Iron Man and the cool Batman armor from Batman v Superman, it’s not all that surprising the filmmakers went with this design.
The images reveal very little about the movie, but we get a look at the new Morphers in the lower abdomen of the suits. Sadly, the Morpher belt didn’t make the cut.
Power Rangers is in theaters March 24, 2017.
