George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon were just a few members of the Ocean’s 11 team, which was itself a remake of the 1960 original that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. Now, Deadline reports the upcoming female-driven spin-off is rounding out its cast, and it sounds just as formidable as the squads led by Clooney and Sinatra.
Joining Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett will be Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina, the latter of whom is famous in the hip-hop scene. That leaves space for one more actor although it’s unclear who that might be. Deadline says there’s a possibility the stars from the Clooney trilogy could make cameo appearances.
The same producers and directors involved in the recent Ocean’s trilogy are all involved in the upcoming spin-off, which means it’ll still have the same style and vibe fans are used to. Who will be number eight? Filming it set to start in October, according to Deadline, so we should know soon enough.
