Samsung has confirmed that it is shutting down its Milk Music streaming service next month, just two years after it made its initial debut. The company will maintain the service’s virtual reality element, but the rest will be killed off.

A March report claimed Samsung had plans to shutter Milk Music, and soon after the South Korean company dropped music videos. Now it has confirmed that music streaming will also die on September 22.

Some rumors have claimed that Samsung might replace Milk Music with Tidal, the rival streaming service owned by Jay Z. However, Samsung has already dismissed those suggestions and made it clear it is not in talks over a buyout.

Samsung is now focused on working with other music streaming services like Spotify to provide Galaxy owners with the best possible experience on their devices.

“We have made the strategic decision to invest in a partner model focused on seamlessly integrating the best music services available today into our family of Galaxy devices,” reads Samsung’s announcement.

“We believe that working with partners will accelerate innovation, enhance device sales and provide amazing new experiences for our customers.”

Milk Music was only ever available to customers in the U.S., which shows just how unsuccessful it was. You can continue using it until it closes its doors on September 22.
