The Google Play Store September charts were just released and there are some notable changes from the previous month.
The early summer blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, which enjoyed a massive worldwide cume north of $1 billion, topped box office charts for multiple weeks and now it’s atop the top purchased movies charts. Civil War topped X-Men: Apocalypse for the top spot, quickly followed by The Jungle Book, Central Intelligence, and Warcraft.
The king of summer, Drake, finally relinquished his crown atop the Top Streamed Songs and Top Purchased Album charts to The Chainsmokers (“Closer”) and Jason Aldean (“They Don’t Know”) respectively. On the TV Shows chart, the recent premiere of American Horror Story (season 6) shot to the top ahead of Game of Thrones (season 6).
