People gushed over Don’t Breathe, a thriller about a group of teens breaking into a blind man’s home. Now, get ready for another thriller, this time of the psychological variety. Universal this week released a trailer for a new film called Get Out and it looks as terrifying as it does mysterious.
Written and directed by Jordan Peele (he of Comedy Central’s Key & Peele), Get Out follows a young man and his girlfriend as they visit her parents for the weekend. It looks, well, see for yourself in the trailer above. Get Out just dropped out of nowhere, which only adds to its allure.
Not only does it look visually interesting but it also takes a fresh approach to the topic of race, using that tension to tell a story that reflects the landscape here in America. It has a very Stepford Wives vibe to it, too, adding an element of familiarity.
Get Out stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener, and opens on Feb. 24, 2017.
