A Costume Quest cartoon is coming from the makers of Adventure Time

I love Costume Quest. It’s my go-to game every single Halloween. This light RPG from Double Fine has fantastic writing that does a great job capturing what it meant to be a kid out for candy on one of the best nights of the year.

While I don’t necessarily love Adventure Time in the same way (I think I just missed it, quite honestly), I know that the studio behind the series is awesome. That’s Frederator Studios, and they make not only Adventure Time, but also The Fairly Odd Parents, a show that’s simply amazing.

Why would I be talking about these two things in the same story? Well, as the headline and image tell you, Frederator Studios is working with Double Fine in order to create a Costume Quest cartoon. The word comes from the studio’s official Facebook page.

Since the cat’s out of the bag (how’d that happen?), it’s okay for us to tell you we’re teaming up with the geniuses at Double Fine Productions to produce an eleven-minute cartoon based on their fine Costume Quest game. Zac Gorman is writing and storyboarding and Pat McHale is directing, basing it on the world originally created by Tasha Sounart. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we have so far.

We have no idea when the short will release, but we’ll make sure to post it once it’s live.

Now, why did they take Adventure Time off of Netflix Instant?
